Of our 7 wrestlers that made it through the first round Friday night, 5 made it to the finals. The two others took 3rd (my son being one of these). Our team also came in 3rd which is the best showing we've had in several years. Usually they finish 5th or 6th. Being they all placed in the top 3 in Districts, they now move onto Regions on Tuesday night.

Before finals started they were warming up and I went down to the mat to get their photo. There are 6 in the photo because our sister school had 1 wrestler in the finals and he wrestled with our guys when they were little. So I took some without him in them too, but I liked their smiles in this one.

So congratulations to our Morris Knolls wrestlers: Jan Rosenberg (103 - 1st place & OW), Adam Ramadan (119 - 2nd place), Jon Arbelaez (130 - 2nd place), Kevin Weis (152 - 2nd place), Luke Homeijer (171 - 2nd place) and Morris Hills wrester: Cody Sternlicht (145 - 2nd place).

Also congratulations to my son, Steven McKowen (125 - 3rd place) and Steven Lane (215 - 3rd place). My son's win also put him at 30-4 for the year. Our 215 had previously lost to his opponent twice. He wasn't about to let that happen again. He pinned him - the only pin in the consolations.
