2 June - Favorite Shoes

Participating in a June photo a day challenge. Today's photo is your favorite shoes. Most days my tootsies are in sneakers. But when exchanging a pair of these for my daughter, I couldn't pass up that they were on sale and I got a $3 coupon because the store I went to exchange them in didn't have her size. So my 10 year old daughter and I have the same sandals.

Let's Play Catch Up

30 April - Boy & The Dog




1 May - This is after bootcamp with Captain Kennedy on Saturday morning - 8-10 am. He weight trains with the captain M, W, F from 3:30 - 5:30pm. Goes to wrestling on Tuesday and Thursday nights at Knolls. Bootcamp Saturday mornings and then on Wednesday and Sunday nights goes to SIR wrestling in Lafayette. Oh and he umpires once a week too.

I ♥ Faces [week 17] "Smiles"

This week,s theme in the I ♥ Faces photo contest is, "smiles" and there are only two requirements to enter a photo: it must contain a person's face and that face [or faces] must be smiling.

I've got some many photos of people smiling, but knew exactly which one I wanted to enter. As many of you know, my son is a wrestler. During Regions, I took the below photo of a friend of his from the Catholic school in our area. As many of you know, there aren't too many smiles from wrestlers. After I had posted the photo on my smugmug account, I saw the boy's Dad the following day. He commented that not too many people get his son to smile. I was later talking to Joe (the young man in the photo) and he said the only other person he ever smiles for is Santa Clause - lol! I am honored.

20 April - Mango Lassi - it was yummy! A&P had mangos on sale 4 for $5. I've had one every day - mmmmm.



21 April - Softball - Her second game. Lost this one too. They are, however, showing improvement.

I Heart Desserts!

This week's challenge at I Heart Faces is "Desserts". Desserts are my most favorite thing to make in my kitchen. During wrestling season I made a lot of Oreo Truffles and Sugar Cookie Bars (from a christmasnotebook.com).

I didn't know which photo to enter from my Flickr photos and didn't want to enter my cakeballs (because Bakerella is the judge) so I picked one of my favorites Margarita Cupcakes (non alcoholic version). I used this recipe and this frosting.

8 & 9 April - Outside & Talent Show Rehearsal

4 April - Egg Hunt

Thank goodness for the older kids, they hid the eggs twice for the youngest - all 60 of them. In the end we ended up with 63 - I think she found some from last year - good thing they were empty.

2 April - More of the War

Thank goodness there were vendors at the War, the boy needed a new singlet - had outgrown all the ones he owns. These things aren't cheap! He will put it to good use though, he has spring and summer tournaments coming up so he needed one for those.



While we were there, Kaitlyn and I kept ourselves entertained by trying to find ugly singlets on 17 mats. Here are some of our favorite uglies.

1 April - Wildwood

In Wildwood for War At The Shore Wrestling tournament. TJ is home taking care of the new baby (puppy).

We had time before our room was ready so we walked the boardwalk. Had Katie stand by this building - such a great color! Too bad there was an electrical pole right in front of the door (she was off to the side).

31 March - Colbie

The newest member of the family - a black lab/hound mix adopted on Saturday. We changed her name from Angelica to Colbie (because she's black like coal) but kept the name as her middle name.

20 & 21 March - Weekend

I actually took some photos this weekend - now that wrestling is over I haven't really touched the camera - not a good thing when working on a 365 project.

The weather here in NJ was beautiful over the weekend (during the week too!). Saturday morning we went to watch the high school varsity baseball scrimmage. My son decided not to play baseball this year (this is the first time in 15 years that someone in our house isn't playing baseball) in order to concentrate on weight training for football and next year's wrestling season. In April and May he will be doing a wrestling clinic 2 days a week. Anyway, the weather was too beautiful to stay inside. After watching baseball we went home for a while and then hubby took the girl to the field to practice some softball since she is playing for the first time this year. She didn't do too bad!



Sunday was another beautiful day - more softball, a walk up the road to see where the brush fire was and experimenting to see how Chocolate Chip Gooey Butter Cookies would be (oh yum!).

8 - 15 March - Catching Up

Last week was a bust. Between having a cold, my neck still bothering me and the rain, I just didn't feel like photoing or blogging. I did manage to find some stuff on my camera though, so sharing those.

With nice weather upon us FINALLY, maybe I will get back into the swing of things

5, 6 & 7 March - NJ State HS Wrestling Championships

This past weekend we headed to Atlantic City for wrestling. Not just any wrestling, but the best of the best in NJ wrestling. Two of my son's team mate's made it there - unfortunately my son came in 4th in his region and just missed it. He has two more years to try to get there.

The Three Amigos left by limo with the coach on Friday morning. Here they are getting ready to leave.



We left about an hour later and about 45 minutes into our ride down the Garden State Parkway, my husband ran over some kind of metal box in the road and our tire went promptly flat. UGH! We had to unload everything out of the car to get to the crank thing to lower the tire from under the car. Thank goodness the Ramandan family happened to see us and stopped to help us out. I've never changed a flat and didn't want to get a crash course on the parkway with cars zipping by. You can see the gash in the tire at the three o'clock position.



After record speed in tire changing we were on our way to AC to check into Bally's and hit the Boardwalk to head to Boardwalk Hall to start watching the weekend of wrestling.



Saturday morning we got up early for a walk on the boardwalk in the beautiful sunshine and fresh air. We stopped at Johnny Rockets for breakfast before heading to Boardwalk Hall at 10 am to watch the next round of wrestling.





We had a break in wrestling from 2-5 so we had some lunch and visited the shops in the Mall on the Pier. Kaitlyn made her own candybar at It'Sugar, which we had to visit after we saw it on the Food Network.

3 March - jeans & boots

My every day uniform. At the beginning of the winter I got fUGGS from Payless, which I absolutely love, and have basically worn them every day. They are just so easy to put on. I'm hoping Payless will have them next year and I won't have to pay the $$$ for real UGGS.

For the past two days I've had a pinched nerve in my neck from sitting on the bleachers at Regions for two days in a row. Therefore is no photo for the 2nd, I was really in pain that day. Today was a little better and I managed to get an appointment with my chiropractor (who is just awesome!).

Anyway, here is the photo for the day. Just playing around with my 50mm 1.8 with focal points and DOF.
